We all say we want to be wealthy, or at least most of us do. But what is wealth? Many of us define wealth differently. Some define it as monetary accumulation, others good health or living a desired lifestyle. But no matter what criteria you attribute to wealth, it all boils down to the image of living a life beyond an average state of existence.
But, do we as individuals know exactly what being wealthy means to us? Or are we working hard to an unknown destination? It is very important to recognize what wealth means to us. Knowing what is important to us is just but the first step. Sadly, even after knowing what is important to us, most of us do not have the ability to possess that wealth within our lives. Why? Our mindsets denies us the ability to think wealthy. We are stuck in the mediocrity of scarcity or poverty mindset.
Our minds are wired to focus more on what we’re lacking, the things we can’t afford to buy, and even worse — feeling resentful toward people who are already wealthy. We need to realize that even with the different opinions of what can be defined as wealth; the common denominator within the equation is an abundance mindset. In order to achieve what to us is wealth, we need a mind which welcomes wealth within its confines. And to develop a wealthy mindset, we need to:
- Define our Desired Wealth
When defining our desired wealth, we need to move from the typical definition of a big house, luxury cars and a closet full of designer clothing applied by most people who only dream of wealth but don’t change themselves nor actually work hard for wealth and be as detailed and specific as possible
- Define your desired mindset
- Define your desired professional work life
- Define your desired lifestyle
These three outlines will help us begin to open up our minds to wealthy thinking and in turn will lead us to creating a wealthy behavior. Understand that the mind is a powerful tool. What we regularly allow to live within it becomes a part of us. A broke mindset produces a broke lifestyle. A wealthy mindset produces a wealthy lifestyle.
- Create habits that reinforce our Mindset
It is not enough to have the thoughts, as thoughts are nothing but wishes if they are not accompanied with actions that bring them into fruition. We just can’t sit on our couches thinking about how we want to be successful but do nothing. Success is not achieved by just sitting, hoping and wishing, we must get up and do something!
In order to develop the wealth which we desire, we have to put in massive effort to actually create that wealth. We must eliminate actions and behaviors which hold us back such as:
Wasting time watching hours of television
Wasting time on social media discussing gossip
Eating unhealthy & not regularly exercising
Sleeping in late because it’s the weekend
Spending money to impress people who don’t even care rather than spending money to improve and grow. etc
And the easiest way is removing these bad behaviors is replacing them with habits that help us transform our thinking and eventually our lives. Wealth creation is dependent on the discipline of a focused mindset, consistent habits and well developed behavior.
Good news is, all we need is the willingness to start thinking in a different way and the courage to take actions based on this new way of thinking. And we can begin right now!
